We had our first experience, as parents, with stitches last night. Tanner (of course it would be accident-prone Tanner!) got out of the tub to go potty and slipped off the stool and cut his head. Other than the actual stitching, I'd say he enjoyed his evening in the spotlight. He proudly strutted around the pediatric waiting room showing everyone his wound, while drinking the banana shake daddy brought him. He was in his glory when the child life specialist brought in some Dora movies for him to watch. Everyone was so great with him. They blew bubbles to distract him while he was being stitched. For the most part it worked!

Tanner proudly showing off his 5 stitches! A Barry kid first!

Waiting for the numbing cream to take effect. He really wasn't this sad. I think the drama came out for the camera!

Tanner blowing bubbles for Kelly, the child life specialist and Lindsey, the ER tech. They did such a great job keeping him happy and calm.

LOL- I'll tell you Amy, better your kids than mine! I'm glad he's doing OK and is proud to show off his stitches (and glad that you took the camera to the hospital to capture the moment, lol) -Elizabeth :-P
