Our Day With Papa and Yaya B.

Papa and Yaya B. came over to spend a fun summer day with us before Brenton starts school. We all had a great time. Brenton was really excited to show them how he can ride his bike, with no training wheels!!! After some baseball, a bike ride and dinner, we went to Craig's Cruisers. Everyone had a fun time playing putt-putt golf. This was Tanner's first time. After a few holes, he decided to make it easy and set his ball right next to the hole before he started putting! Needless to say, we didn't keep score! All the boys, big ones included, had fun riding the go-carts. Feeling left out, Brynlee had to go for a ride too! Although, she wasn't too sure about her passengers! (If you are wondering why I spelled her name different, ask me, it's a long, goofy story!) We all had a great time, I think we will be visiting Craig's Cruisers again sometime soon!

Donut Heaven!!!

We took the kids to Krispy Kreme this week. The kids had the greatest time. Brenton managed to put away three and Tanner ate two. Brinlee was doing a good job on hers, until she saw Tanner eating a chocolate one. Taking after her mommy, she then insisted on only the chocolate ones!

We also helped Yaya and Auntie Great with a garage sale at Grandma Great's house. Brenton set up a lemonade stand. He was such a cute little salesman! He takes after Daddy, that's for sure! He ended up making $4.51. Not bad for only have a dozen or so customers. I think that sweet little smile got him a lot of tips!

I wanted to include this picure of Tanner and his buddy. Dane came over for dinner last night. The boys had a great time playing with each other. They spent most of the the time chasing each other around in a circle. Tanner spent most of the day today talking about the fun time he had with "my best Dane".

We went to MSU fan appreciation day, last Monday the 8th. The kids got the players' autographs and were able to play some games. Brenton thought it was pretty neat, although, he was a little shy around the players and didn't want his picture with any of them. He took his MSU football and got it signed by about 6 players, including the quarterback, which I'm told is a big deal! Tanner and Brinlee were more excited about running around on the practice field and playing with the tackle dummies. Other than that, things have been pretty low key around here. I have started a new book series, and I'm really addicted to it (the Left Behind series, by Jerry Jenkins and Tim LaHaye. They have been out a while now, but I just got into them. I recommend them to anyone who hasn't read them. They are very interesting and also help make the book of Revelation, in the Bible, a bit clearer, as I always had a hard time understanding it). Anyhow, I have been doing a lot of reading this week so I wasn't surprised to see the kids all sitting in their chairs with books. Although, finding all three there at the same time and having them stay still long enough to take the picture was pretty amazing! It was so cute, I had to share it!

Ionia Free Fair

We went to the fair last week. The kids had a lot of fun riding the rides. We were able to get the "ride all day" tickets, before the fair started, at a discounted price. Tanner started out a bit timid, but soon was wanting to ride everything. He loved the race cars, the mini-roller coaster and the ferris wheel, but I think his all time favorite was the scrambler. Papa took some pictures of him on it, but he is so tiny, all you see is the top of a little blonde head! Brenton was an old pro at the rides. He wanted to ride everything, he even went on the big roller coaster with Jim and I. We ended up staying until 11:00 pm and Brenton could have kept going! He loved racing us down the big slide. He really got into the games this year. He played the dart game twice and won a stuffed animal both times! We walked through the animal barns. Tanner was not very happy about that, especially when it turned out to be feeding time as we were walking by the hogs. They were so loud (and stinky)!!! Brinlee really enjoyed the animals. I wasn't aware she could make so many animal sounds! We ended up having so much fun, Yaya, the kids and I went back the next night again (Daddy had an evening appointment). Papa was taking pictures at the meat sale so we watched a bit of that, ate some more junk food and let the boys play at the arcade. Tanner was in love with the crane game that gave out candy. Go figure!
